Egress Window Installation in Chevy Chase with Custom Window Well
This is a unique egress window installation job we did in Chevy Chase, Maryland for a client who wanted to make more light in her pottery studio. We first had to cut through a stone retaining wall, and then excavate to the foundation wall. We then cut through the concrete block foundation wall and installed the structural framing with a new header. After that, we custom-made a pressure treated retaining wall to extend from the foundation wall out to the stone retaining wall. The system not only brought a lot of light into her pottery studio, but also made it a safe and legal bedroom if she ever wanted to use it for that in the future. The system included a 30” x 60” European tilt and turn window, and instead of a pre-manufactured Boman kemp well, we use a custom-made pressure treated 4 x 4 retaining wall with a decorative cobblestone base.
